    It depends on the system. GRP fibreglass lasts 20-30 years, EPDM rubber 20-25 years, and quality torch-on felt 10-15 years. Proper installation and annual checks extend lifespan significantly. We offer guarantees up to 25 years on our premium installations.
    We always inspect thoroughly before recommending replacement. Minor leaks, small cracks, and localized damage can often be repaired cost-effectively. But if the roof is over 15 years old, has multiple leak points, or the deck is damaged, replacement is usually the better long-term investment.
    Most domestic flat roofs (garages, dormers, small extensions) take 1-3 days depending on size and complexity. Larger extensions or commercial roofs may take 3-5 days. We’ll give you an accurate timeframe when we quote, and we stick to it.
    GRP (fibreglass) is a rigid, seamless system—extremely durable but more expensive. EPDM is a rubber membrane—flexible, fast to install, and great for larger areas. Felt is a multi-layer torch-on system—most economical but shorter lifespan. We’ll recommend the best option based on your roof type, budget and how long you plan to stay in the property.
    Yes. All our work comes with a workmanship guarantee, and we offer manufacturer-backed guarantees up to 25 years on GRP and EPDM systems. Insurance-backed guarantees are available on request at an additional cost for complete peace of mind.
    GRP roofs can handle regular foot traffic—ideal if you need roof access. EPDM is reasonably durable but shouldn’t be walked on unnecessarily. Felt is more delicate and should only be accessed for maintenance. We’ll advise on the best system if you need regular roof access.
    Most flat roof repairs and replacements don’t require planning permission as they’re like-for-like replacements. New builds or significant alterations may need approval. If you’re extending or building new, we can advise on requirements, but you should check with Liverpool City Council planning department.
